Welcome to Arran Yacht Club!
Formed in 1956 to promote the sport of sailing on the Isle of Arran, the club is based at Lamlash Pier and as well as owning its premises has a long term lease on the Pier and adjoining shore. Lamlash Harbour is an ideal area for sailing with relatively sheltered waters and scenery to die for. From the water you get views of Lamlash Village, Holy Isle and the hills behind, including Goat Fell.
We have facilities for outside storage of boats of all sizes, a 10 tonne capacity boat lift and indoor storage for a limited number of dinghies. Anybody wishing to use these facilities should contact a member of committee.
Visitors are always welcome and can join and store their boat for the duration of their holiday. All we ask is they contact the Secretary or Treasurer beforehand.
Arran Yacht Club is a registered RYA Training Centre and from time to time runs Powerboat and Dinghy sailing courses in conjunction with Arran Junior Sailing Club.
Moorings
There are up to 25 Visitor Moorings and these are charged at £10 per night payable ashore at the Ferry Office at Lamlash Pier. To book, contact Jim Blakey at the office by VHF Channel 37 (M1) or by mobile 0797 0771960 during the day and on 01770 700463 outside ferry hours.
Generally moorings are under the control of Lamlash Moorings Association who are licensed by the Crown Estate. Anyone wishing to lay a mooring should contact David Millar on 07917 124744.
